The
Eight Legged Atomic Dustbin Will Eat Itself
Many
eons ago, Martin Roach published a combined
biography of The Wonder Stuff, Pop Will Eat
Itself and Ned's Atomic Dustbin. The book
received widespread acclaim including being
called "a phenomenon" by Vox Magazine.
Originally printed in 1992 as Independent Music
Press’ first
ever title, the original ‘blue’ edition sold
over 5,000 copies - predominantly out of carrier
bags outside gigs and at festivals! The second
‘red’ edition was released to the book trade and
sold a further 3,000 copies and both are now
collectors’ items among the fanbase having long
since reached the end of the print run.
With
all three of the Stourbridge bands having
reformed in recent years, largely due to public
demand, the book was re-released earlier in 2006
to coincide with the groups' 20th
anniversary and to bring the history of this unique music
scene up to date. Extensive interviews with band
members reveal what they have been up to
throughout the thirteen years since this book’s
first publication, including writing Hollywood
soundtracks and running record companies.
A comprehensive chronicle of all their record
releases to date and massive histories of each
band complete the third edition of this
publishing classic.
Miles Hunt has written a new foreword to the book
making this an essential tome
will be a must-have book for thousands of the
bands’ fans.
