THE
FOUNDRY / THE STAGE
5th DECEMBER 1995 / 6th DECEMBER 1995
Having already
notched up a score of sold out debut dates, this
marks the official debut release by the former
Stuffies and former Eat singer Ange Doolittle.
And a curious cocktail it is too. Title track
'Don't Be Too Honest' harks to Led Zep behind
its slashing guitars, 'Confessions Of A Thug' is
an acoustic refugee from a rejected Lloyd Webber
musical, and the furious, chop and snarl
Lennonisms of 'Excuse Me?' is more what you'd
expect from the union, but nothing to string out
the banners for. The snipers are already
stalking, it's going to take something more
convincing than this to exorcise the invidious
ghosts. |
